Simply Cute Children Meals by Little Nummies Posted: 07 Sep 2013 07:00 PM PDT
Don't let my kids see this, or they won't stop bugging their mother to make their food this way. Actually, on second thought, let me call over my kids ... Kidding, wifey! Kidding! Kellie Strickland of Little Nummies got the idea of making simple yet fun food while making meals for her three girls. Now, we've all seen fantastically creative bento boxes - but those are often pretty intricate. Instead, Strickland decided to "inspire everyone, with simplicity, to play with their food."
Take a look for many more simple yet fun food creations over at Little Nummies.

The Sands of Time for a Father Posted: 07 Sep 2013 05:00 PM PDT "This Is My Father's World" is a short film by Vietnamese sand animator Lê Phong Giao. Watch his moving story of a heroic, loving father. -via The Presurfer
Posted: 07 Sep 2013 04:00 PM PDT This luscious cake has layers of pumpkin cake made with ground graham crackers instead of flour, homemade marshmallow meringue filling (toasted with a blowtorch), and dark chocolate ganache to cover it all. A totally decadent treat when you really want to impress someone! The recipe from Desserts for Breakfast does not look simple, but I would bet the results are worth the effort. Teen Came Out, Mom Asked Him to Clean His Room Posted: 07 Sep 2013 03:00 PM PDT Teenager Zach Gibson came out as gay last week on his Facebook page, and got this surprise letter from his mom Michelle Conway McClain. She said, "I love you unconditionally. ... Your sexual orientation does not define you. You are still the boy who forever won my heart." But, like a true mom, she ended the letter with "The only thing that concerns me is the number of empty soda cups and tea bottles in your room. Throw them away before ants come inside." The letter has gone viral since it was posted on the NO H8 Campaign's Facebook page two days ago. Zach wrote"I never expected this much support. I knew my mom would be fine with it, but I never expected this letter and I never expected this many people to spread it around. This means so much." Zach's mom Michelle emailed Upworthy the reason why she left the note: "I knew I wouldn't see Zach before I left work that morning, so I didn't want him to start his day without knowing I support him 100%, even though I was sure he already knew. I posted the note on my Facebook page knowing my friends and family would think it was typical of me to end with a joke since Zach and I share the same sarcastic wit. I had no idea it would become such a huge sensation on the internet."
Three Kittens in two Hamster Balls Posted: 07 Sep 2013 02:00 PM PDT Muffin, Bun Bun, and Ducky have fun in hamster balls, sometimes getting two kittens in one ball. The mother cat is named Tiger, and she's not quite sure if this is a good idea, but she takes it in stride eventually. -via Metafilter

Stylish Pilots of the Early 20th Century Posted: 07 Sep 2013 11:00 AM PDT The men and women who became pilots in the earliest days of airplane flight all had something in common -they were brave, adventurous go-getters. Many of them became quite famous, too, which means we have pictures of them to admire. Pictured here is British World War I flying ace Albert Ball. Check out more of those daring pilots from the early 20th century at Flavorwire. Link

The posts with the most comments were the giveaway posts and, of course, the Question in Need of Answers. Other than those, the most commented-on posts were Le Grand K: The Perfect Kilogram and More NYC Etiquette Tips. The comment of the week has to go to the entire thread under Facebook-Flavored Ice Cream. I've never seen a comment get 20 ♥s, which is worth a mention even if it was mine. Many people had suggestions as to what Facebook tastes like. Believe it or not, the same kind of contributions came in at the Neatoramanauts Facebook page, too.
